Cornicello Charm, Red

Across Southern Italy, you'll see them everywhere — tucked into car mirrors, hung by front doors, worn close at the throat. The red Cornicello Charm is the oldest and truest version of the talisman: a slender twisted horn, glazed in deep coral red, worn to turn away the malocchio - the evil eye - and keep its wearer from harm.

Red is the colour it was always meant to be. The shade is tied to the charm's protective power, which is why the cornicello you spot on a Neapolitan doorway is almost always this same vivid red.

Ours is finished in rich enamel against gold-plated silver, the curve catching the light as it moves. Traditionally the horn is given rather than bought for yourself - passed from one person to another as a small act of looking out for someone. Wear it as a quiet bit of protection, or gift it as exactly that.
